(IsraelNN.com) The Yesha Council announced this evening (Thursday) that it is shocked and severely criticizes the shooting incident in Shfaram that took the lives of innocent people.
The Yesha Council also criticizes the cynical use of the incident by certain political entities to try to make a connection between a serious incident to the democratic, legitimate and nonviolent protest against the expulsion from Gush Katif.
Naming him “a settler” even though he was not a resident of any settlement is an attempt to slander a whole population who is leading a democratic protest in an exemplary way. It would be better to act with more responsibility instead of criticizing only in order to gain dubious political benefits.

7 Police Injured by Angry Crowd in Shfaram
22:14 Aug 04, '05 / 28 Tammuz 5765
(IsraelNN.com) Seven policemen were injured this evening while they were trying to distance the angry crowd from the bus in Shfaram.
Originally reported as Eden Tzubari, the police have now announced that the shooter’s name is actually Eden Natan Zada(19). Zada began shooting when the bus reached the Druze area of the city, Shfaram. He emptied an entire magazine, killing four and injuring sixteen. While he was trying to change cartridges, people from the outside managed to overwhelm him. The police reached the scene almost immediately and took over. However, hundreds of angry people began to stone the bus and to try to take over. The police tried to get him out of the bus, but gave up. Half an hour later, a number of furious bystanders managed to get inside the bus and beat Zada until he died.
The police are still unable to get his body out of the bus because of the angry crowd surrounding the area.
The injured, ranging from light to moderate, are being cared for in the Nahariya Hospital

"Israeli Arab Knesset Member Mohammed Barakei blamed the attack on "Jewish incitement."
"The writing was on the wall and such an incident was bound to happen," Barakei said. "It was caused by the constant incitement against the Right by government officials and racists who have called Israeli Arabs a fifth column and worse names. The anger of the people of Shfaram is understandable and I hope it isn't channeled in a destructive way.""
