On Sunday, the fast of the 17th of Tamuz, the Minister of Defense, Mofaz, unethically and immorally ordered the Egged and Metropoline Bus Co. to shut down 2 lines to Gush Katif and Western Negev communities in an attempt to dry up the region of Gush Katif, hinder the movement of people in and out of the area and break the strong spirit of the people! Due to the pressure imposed by residents, MKs and concerned citizens, the decree was rescinded! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Phone, Fax, e-mail! Your efforts are worth it!

According to the army, over 2000 people have already succeeded in getting into Gush Katif. The infiltration into Gush Katif through Kissufim must continue at a faster pace. Call Moshe Leshem (of “Sheinit Gamla lo Tipol”) for details: 054-4868778.
Many people manage to get into the Gush via alternate, non-official routes. We need more people to stay there until the expulsion threat is past. It is suggested that you prepare to bring in your own tent. There is a committee in Neveh Dekalim by the square in front of the shopping center, where volunteers assign each "guest" with living quarters, sanitary facilities, food and work tasks to each new inhabitant. Also, one can be a Shabbat Guest.

NEW SEFER TORAH FOR GUSH KATIF
With God's Help, a new Torah scroll will be dedicated in a Gush Katif community on the 14th of Av. This is the same Torah that led the way into Kfar Maimon. The soldiers saw the Torah being carried toward them and broke their blockade to make way for the Torah. This same Torah will make its way right to Gush Katif. The Torah costs over $30,000 and already letters are being sold. We are far from the necessary funds to complete the acquisition. Whoever is interested in buying letters of the scroll please contact Rav Shai Gefen: 052-5218730 and a certificate will be sent to your home. Only 10 shekels per letter.

Ofakim Summer Camp
Wondering what to do this summer? Come to camp in Ofakim. The first and second lines of soldiers have arrived for expulsion exercises. We are organizing crews to go and speak to the soldiers. As we learned in Kfar Maimon, these face-to-face interactions have an effectively strong impact on the individual soldiers/policemen.
