(IsraelNN.com) GOS Central Command, Major General Yair Naveh, announced his decision in the case of the lieutenant colonel who returned his army reserves card as a demonstration of his opposition to the Disengagement Plan. He has dismissed the reserves officer from his position and from any future position in the army. In doing so, he agreed with the commander of the Idan Division, Brigadier General Uzi Moskovitz, who had previously suggested such a reaction.
Maj. Gen. Naveh invited the reserves officer to a hearing. There he clarified his position, namely that the army will not allow individuals to express political ideology, but rather the soldiers must carry out the decisions of the state and the higher levels of the military. Making a political statement such as returning one's army reserves card is unacceptable to Naveh, and as such, he is expelling the reserves officer from the army."
